Boerne to Johnson City

Adobe chicken. Last night's evening meal in our hotel and very nice too.

This was the fastest I pedalled today.

There are no such things as friendly hills.

Not a cloud in the sky.

Indeed.

We had a lot of this.

Loads of this

And even more of this.

Ass's ass.

Leo finds the hills are friendly. His trailer weighs in at 67 lbs!

An old water tank.

We thought the buzzards would have slim pickings, so Don decided to sacrifice himself.

Circling overhead.

We met these very friendly horses.

Awwwwwwww.

My flag is not edible.

Some more motorcyclists.

Texas ranch living.

5 miles from our destination. Bugger.

Right. Head down and pedal.

Once I had reached the top, the last 3.5 miles were nearly all downhill. Phew.

Some local garden art for sale.

God Bless Texas. Ok.

Let the sun shine.

Stretch limo going who knows where.

Hummer.

Very artistic water butt made from a drum.

What a machine.

Today was another hard day, with 2850 feet of climbing over the first 45 miles. It was a lovely route though, with a lunch stop in Blanco.

We are sightseeing by vehicle tomorrow, then heading back to Austin for a final night with Leo and Sue.

This has been a great trip with many many humourous moments, none of which I can reveal.👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹

Bandera to Boerne (pronounced Bernie)

OWe had a noisy night, with some dreadful country music coming from a local bar and then some a****ole with a Harley and no baffles driving around at 3am. Luckily, because we only had 25 miles to travel, we had planned a late start. An excellent breakfast was had at a nearby cafe. I then ran into the local early shift.

Last night's noise was coming from these two bars.

Off we go.

We had the usual slow ups and 25 mph downhills.

We were passed on a fairly steep hill by some bikers. Oh how I coveted their horsepower.

Nice hotel.

Carriage anyone?

The steps up to our room. We had no idea what to expect and we certainly did not expect what we got.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, minus the chainsaw.

That is a working sink.

Excellent bath. Not sure I would fit in it though.

I thought it was a mangle. Apparently it is a corn chucker?

Walkies.

Wild Billl Hickock. I'll let you work out which one.

Don's new bike.

So is it Jewellery, jewelry or jewelery?  All advertising the same shop!

Not without meeting first.

Here come the Judge.

Colourful fire hydrant.

Matching bike!

Pre-dinner aperitifs.

We had an excellent and reasonably priced meal in the hotel restaurant.

Biggish day tomorrow with nearly 50 miles to cover. Night night.
