March is an interesting time to think about going on a cycling trip.

The weather precludes any intensive training and I have just been away working in Belfast for 11 days.

Today I did an easy 27 miles and felt great at the end. There were no great hills to climb and I averaged about 12mph which is fine for me.

The saving grace is that some of my cycling companions, particularly from Indiana and Illinois, will have been unable to get out since last year, so will be starting from scratch, unless of course they have been cheating by going to spinning classes.

The itinerary is as follows:
18th March. Fly to Austin, Texas and stay with Leo and Sue. I can't thank them enough.
19th March.  Austin, jet lag recovery.
20th March. Travel to Buda and meet the rest of the gang.
21st March. Cycle to Johnson City. 51 miles and 2175 ft of climbing.
22nd March. Cycle to Llano. 56 miles and 1276 ft of climbing.
23rd March. Cycle to Fredericksburg. 45 miles and 2149 ft of climbing.
24th March. Stay in Fredericksburg and cycle the Luckenbach Loop. 22.1 miles and 522 ft.
25th March. Cycle to Kerrville. 26 miles and 1100 ft.
26th March. Cycle to Bandera. 41 miles and 1200 ft.
27th March. Cycle to Boerne. 24 miles and 1100 ft.
28th March. Cycle to Johnson City. 47 miles and 2100 ft.
29th March. Cycle to Buda. 47 miles and 1370 ft.
30th March. Fly home.

Hopefully there will be lots of interesting places to photograph. I can guarantee there will be lots and lots of laughs.
